Director of Bands
Carley Hood is in her eighth year of teaching and seventh year at Twin Creeks Middle School where she conducts the symphonic band, jazz band and teaches beginning woodwind classes. Mrs. Hood, an alumnus of Twin Creeks and Spring High School, is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Houston's Moores School of Music, earning her bachelor's degree in music education in 2010. While at the University of Houston, Mrs. Hood performed in the MSM Wind Ensemble where she studied under Eddie Green, Tom Bennett, and David Bertman. In 2012, Mrs. Hood went on to earn her Master's degree in clarinet performance from the University of Houston.
Mrs. Hood loves food, working out, and traveling. She met her husband Justin in the Spring Band and got married in 2008. They have two children, Marshall and Liam.
Nick Kalisek Assistant Director of Bands
Nicholas Kalisek is in his second year of teaching and first year teaching at Twin Creeks Middle School, where he conducts the concert and varsity bands and teaches the beginning brass and percussion classes. Mr. Kalisek is a graduate from Sam Houston State University earning his bachelor’s degree in music education in 2016. While at Sam Houston State University, Mr. Kalisek performed in the Symphonic Band where he studied under Dr. Brian Gibbs, Dr. Matthew McInturf, and Randy Adams.
Mr. Kalisek is a second-generation band director, and enjoys movies, working out, fishing, and loves dogs. He has been a member of the Spring Baptist Church for many years and will occasionally perform with the Spring Baptist Church Orchestra. He met his wife at Sam Houston and got married in 2017.
